From our early roots in custom enterprise software to our focus today on mobility and managed services platforms, our mission has remained consistent: make mobile connectivity easier, smarter, and more reliable for organizations of all sizes.
Our History
ROVA Software was founded in New York City in 1995 with a focus on building world-class custom enterprise software. The company quickly earned a strong reputation among elite clients, particularly in banking, finance, and legal industries.
1995
In 1999, the team began developing the first version of what would become ROVA Enterprise. A pilot launch was planned for fall 2001, but the company's servers were destroyed in the September 11th attacks, delaying the launch indefinitely. Despite the challenges facing New York City at that time, the ROVA team remained safe and committed to rebuilding.
1999 – 2001
Relocating to a temporary SOHO loft, the team rebuilt its infrastructure and relaunched with the same pilot customer in 2002. As businesses shifted to remote work, ROVA's mobility platform played a critical role in helping thousands of employees stay connected and productive. This pivotal moment solidified mobility as ROVA's long-term focus.
2002
Since then, the product has evolved significantly, but the mission remains the same: to provide platforms that enable carriers and their enterprise customers to connect mobile employees easily, efficiently, securely, and cost-effectively. ROVA is fully self-funded and has been profitable since its founding. Despite its lean structure, the company has consistently delivered solutions for some of the largest carriers and enterprises in the world.

Joe Bronowich
Founder & Chairman
Joe Bronowich is a founder and Executive Chairman of ROVA. He previously served as CEO from 1995 through 2025, leading ROVA’s strategic direction and day-to-day operations through decades of growth and innovation in mobility management. As Executive Chairman, he continues to support the leadership team, advise on long-term strategy, and maintain ROVA’s strong relationships with partners and customers.
Before founding ROVA, Joe held senior enterprise project management and programmer/analyst roles, working with clients including American Express, Merrill Lynch, Smith Barney, and Sherman & Sterling. Earlier in his career, he worked in publishing at BusinessWeek and in the music industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University.
Ron Spark
Founder & Chief Technical Officer
Ron Spark is a founder of ROVA and serves as Chief Technical Officer. He is responsible for the overall architecture, design, and development of all ROVA solutions. Ron has led engineering efforts delivering enterprise-grade software used by Fortune 100 companies.
He is widely recognized for his expertise in Microsoft desktop application development and advanced Office program design. Earlier in his career, he held technical roles at Unisys Corporation and Task Force Inc. Ron holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
Tom Thimot
Chief Executive Officer
Tom Thimot is the CEO of ROVA, stepping into the role in 2026 after serving for the past 15 years as Executive Chairman of the ROVA Board. He brings deep experience scaling high-growth technology companies and supporting organizations that rely on remote work and learning technologies.
Previously, Tom served as CEO of fintech company Socure, where he expanded enterprise customers fivefold and helped raise $65 million in capital. He has also held CEO or COO roles at several technology firms and was part of the Executive Leadership Team at Cognizant, where he helped grow its disruptive technology practice. Tom holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with double minors in Business and Mathematics from Marquette University.
